SAHSS 2026 Annual Meeting

The South Australian Hand Surgery Society Annual Meeting is going to be held in person on Friday 20th November 2026 at Mount Lofty House

Our Invited Speaker for 2026 will be Dr Ruby Grewal.

The meeting is the only forum in South Australia for those interested in surgery of the hand and the upper limb. It includes Hand Surgeons, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons, Occupational and rehabilitation Physicians, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Nurses, Surgical Trainees and others with an interest in the upper limb and the hand.

ASM 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM  |  Scientific Meeting (Lunch will be served at 12:30).

The AGM will follow the meeting and start at 5:30 PM, followed by dinner at 6:30 PM (Martha’s Restaurant).

The program will be released the week prior to the event.

Invited Speaker

Dr Ruby Grewal

Dr Ruby Grewal is an orthopaedic hand and upper limb surgeon and Professor of Surgery at the Roth | McFarlane Hand & Upper Limb Centre (HULC), St Joseph's Health Care, Western University in London, Ontario. She completed her MD and orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of British Columbia, followed by two years of subspecialty training in upper extremity reconstruction and trauma — a first fellowship at the Hand and Upper Limb Centre in London, Ontario and a second at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney — and concurrently obtained a master's degree in epidemiology and biostatistics. She joined Western's Department of Surgery in 2006 and co-directs the clinical research laboratory at HULC, alongside Joy MacDermid, where the programme focuses on prevention, assessment and management of upper limb musculoskeletal disorders and associated work disability, with major streams in distal radius fractures, shoulder arthroplasty and elbow reconstruction, supported by CIHR funding. Her elective practice spans hand, wrist and microsurgery, with a trauma practice covering the hand, wrist, shoulder and elbow, and her research interest is clinical outcomes. She has published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles and 30 book chapters, serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Hand Surgery (American), sits on the board of the Canadian Society for Surgery of the Hand, and is co-president of a Canadian multicentre research group studying hand and wrist disorders. She has received the Dean's Award for Excellence at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry and represented the Canadian Orthopaedic Association as an International Travelling Fellow.

Registration Fees SAHSS is not registered for GST and therefore all fees are GST free.

All fees include SAHSS 2026 Membership Fees.

Ordinary Member (Surgical) includes SAHSS Membership

  • Scientific Meeting (dinner not included) $250

Associate Member includes SAHSS Membership

  • All Day Meeting (including dinner) $300

  • Scientific Meeting (dinner not included) $150

Dinner Extra Tickets - $165 pp 

Dining at Mount Lofty House - Martha's Kitchen:  3 Course dinner featuring best produce of South Australia & the Adelaide Hills designed by Martha's Head Chef including a 3 hour Adelaide Hills premium beverage package including wines, craft beers, juice, mineral water, soft drink.


Membership

Membership is applied to all fees with your online ASM registration for 2026. If you cannot attend and you wish to pay for your membership fees, please contact lara@themeetingpeople.com.au or 0411 439 410.

Ordinary Members – medical practitioners with an interest in hand surgery and hold a surgical fellowship or equivalent qualification $100

Associate (Non voting) – medical practitioners, surgical trainees, hand therapists and allied professionals who have a medical degree or allied health qualification but not a surgical fellowship $30
